Mr. & Miss Valley Star Pokhara is brainchild of some young and energetic persons who came together to organised this event under Inspired Home Production to provide platforms for youths of Pokhara. The main motive behind this event is to support and help these youths to understand the value of being human and to keep an idea and information about the current state of society and life. This is not a contest, but an opportunity to meet different kinds of people together in one place to understand each others importance which will help them later how to begin the first steps of dealing with human issues and it's importance and priorities.

Polina Psycheya is a beautiful woman who fronts a Russian band All I Could Bleed. She talks exclusively with Melvi B&G about her band journey and band's style.
Melvi - What are you doing nowadays?
Polina - I try to use our last warm days here. Nothing special: workout in the woods, ride bike, some rehearsal and so on, and so on.
Melvi - Can I get the story of your band and biography? What is the meaning of All I Could Bleed exactly means to the band?
Polina - AICB was born in 2004, by duet of our guitarists Alex Sibrikov and Max Melnikov. Hard to say what it means for other musicians from «AICB», because this name was given over 11 years ago, and I'm in the band over 6 years. Well, for me it has the most direct value-all I could express by blood. All I could say on language of aggression, the most expressive of existing in whole world. And I do it.
Melvi - What are the lyrical themes you use in your song?gore, horror, politics, anti religion etc..
Polina - Well, at our first album ”Burying The Past” I wrote something about my own experience, about my past. And yes, I can even use word like “horror”. My new lyrics for second album totally about politics, wars. “Anti-religion” is not really right determination, I use this theme, but I only try to say there, “you can believe at whatever, but first you have to believe in yourself, and don’t be deceived by the gods of flesh and blood”.
Melvi - How it feels to be in a metal band esp. when its a male dominant place? And for how many years you are in this scene?
Polina - You know, I never feel difference from “male world”, I am a part of it. I don’t feel myself woman and I don’t have a maternal instincts or something, I am manly. And people around me feel it, know it. Appearance is not being in my situation. And I’m on the stage over 6 years.
Melvi - Which are the bands that have influenced your band most?
Polina - Aw, a lot of. I can say most popular bands, such Death, Pantera, Kreator, Children Of Bodom, early Metallica, Rammstein, Arkona, Motorhead, Distruction and so on.
Melvi - What are the future plans of All I Could Bleed? any tours, releases, recordings etc.
Polina - The main plan for us now is completing recording and release of second album. Than… who knows, maybe tour and clip.
Melvi - How did metal community reacted to your debut album?
Polina - Well, I will not lie, if I’ll say- really really good. Despite the fact that material is not really fresh and the recording quality is not high. But I still getting positive reviews from whole world.
Melvi - What is your opinion on sites posting band's Materials without asking bands?
Polina - I think it’s even good, especially for unknown bands. That’s free PR. Because early become famous was much more unreal, than now.
Melvi - How do you feel about the classifications in metal? like deathcore, metalcore and other sub genres..
Polina - To be honest, I hate it, huh. But I don’t criticize it, I just will never come in this world. Every self-expression has a right to exist if it's not aimed at instilling bad habits and so on.
Melvi - In general term metal isn't appreciated by Society what do you have to say on this?
Polina - I can say only: I don’t care, haha. Most part metal bands don’t carry a destructive message, while most of today's pop artists are promoting debauchery, drugs, dullness, false moral values, love of money. Metal is “honest music”, aggressive, but honest. What’s better? The answer is obvious.
Melvi - Ok, what do you want to tell those peoples who rips off the band hard work and illegally downloads their music or pirates their cds/merchs and sells them?
Polina - About downloads I already said-I think that’s good. You know, big part of people, who downloaded it and like it-will buy cd anyway, that’s my own experience with AICB. About merch another situation-that’s bullshit. Merch is another money and meaning. This is must be stopped.
Melvi - Beside All I Could Bleed do you have any other projects you have? If then, Can you tell us about those projects in few words?
Polina - I don’t have side-projects for now, but I don’t mind to work with someone like a guest-singer. Just for experience.
Melvi - Is it hard surviving in metal Scene?
Polina - It’s pretty hard, you even have no idea how hard is it, especially in Russia. You must to be rich and lucky to survive and be popular…That’s sad.
Melvi - Metal has to be underground or metal has to go mainstream, what's your opinion?
Polina - Hard to say. Mainstream can give you a chance to get money for continuing a career, for records, clips, touring. But another side-you can lose your honest, it can turn a head. And that will be not this metal as we used to see it. “Middle ground” is better for all aspects of life.
Melvi - What is your opinion on the current state of metal?
Polina - What can I say? It’s sad almost at whole world, except Latin America, really! There is metal-boom. That’s really awesome to know. I dream about reborn of 70-80’s, that was the best time for metal\rock motion. Blossoming. Maybe someday it returns.
Melvi - Which is the album you want to take to your grave?
Polina - “Never I ask of you, But never I gave, But you gave me your emptiness I now take to my grave…”. I mean, I’m not really plan to die, so don’t ask me, huh.
Melvi - Can you recommend us some good bands from your country for our readers?
Polina -Yes, sure. That’s pretty good idea!
Melvi - Support Metal, how much you agree on this quote?
Polina - I’m totally agreed. And I do all I can to support young bands. If you will check my facebook page- you will see about what I am. That’s the only one way to stay alive. That’s the only one way to make strong metal-army. And each of you can and have to show your support! That’s really important.
Melvi - Where do our readers can buy and listen All I Could Bleed and any other merchs?
Polina - I start to paint our merch just now, and soon you’ll can to buy it just on my facebook page. I start to paint it just now only because many people sincerely wait and want it. That’s important reason for us!
Melvi - Do you remember your first show with All I Could Bleed, How was it and how did the crowd reacted to your first show?
Polina - Aw yes, I remember it. 2009, Chelyabinsk, big scene. While that time I still not write lyrics for our own album, and guys give me the task to learn Arch Enemy’s song “Enemy Within” and present it. Well I’m did it of course, without panic or something. Crowd was really surprised and they give me really strong support, I even didn’t dream about!
Melvi - Do you have any plans to come to Nepal in coming days?
Polina - I know that Nepal fans wait for us, not only Nepal. And we wish to play there, but we need money for touring, tour manager\booking agency. It’s hard to find it… but I’m sure, we will do it someday! Just don’t stop to wait.
Melvi - What do you hate in metal community?like, anything..
Polina - I hate traitors, pseudo critics, “stars”-who spits on all metal fans… this is the most disgusting people.
Melvi - Your dream metal fest line up.
Polina - Such a hard questions, man. Please, don’t ask me to write big list of my favorite bands, okay? Haha. It will be really long list. Let me play on Wacken Open Air at least.

Rip Off and Pisakas was in their first International tour to Nepal. Their first stop was Pokhara where Rip Off was scheduled to open for Funerus from USA at inaugural of Pokhara Metal Gathering 2015. But, due to time limitation the band couldn't get the chance to climb on stage.
Though, without playing also they manage to earn some fans and they are looking forward to come back again in Pokhara 2016.
Their next stop was Kathmandu at Funerus Live in Kathmandu organised by Massacre Events where again they had to play along the side of Funerus, Ugrakarma, Dying Out Flame, Obliterating Vortex, Undefined Human and more.
Pisakas started the show with little nervousness but when it was the time for Rip Off, they totally made the crowd go crazy and wild. The "Rip Off or Fuck Off" scream was louder than what whole sound system was delivering.
Hetauda was their 3rd stop at Slaughter House Death Fest 3. which is the annual Extreme Metal of this city organised by Extreme Underground Hetauda. Pisakas really manage to throw out a good guttural show. The crowd was insane and wildly moshing in their set.
Well, Rip Off played their shortest set ever which lasted barely more than 35 seconds on stage.
Their last stop was Dharan at inaugural of first ever kind of fest which was called Grind & Mosh Vol. 1. organised by Extreme Dharan and Distorted Dharan. A total grindcore bands in line up was the highlight of this show. The fest saw more than 350 grinders inside the venue which was unbelievable thing.
Let's meet the beautiful girl Rachana Rai from the Hills who made her almost impossible dream come true and inducted the name of Darjeeling in the ramp of Lakme Fashion Week 2015.
Melvi - Tell us something about yourself. When you were crowned as Miss Darjeeling 2012 how was the feeling?
Rachana - I grew up in a family who has been involved in the field of art and culture. As both of my parents Mr. Sudhir Rai and Mrs. Pushpa Lata Rai are local celebrities. My father is a renowned singer from Darjeeling who has lent his voice for movies, albums and television productions and the same goes for my mother. One things, they never ever force their views on me and I'm really thankful to them for giving me space and my freedom. Let's say, I was the master of my own destiny since childhood. Taking the opportunity to participate in Miss Darjeeling Pahari Pratik 2012 which is also known as Shree Sushri Pahari Pratik actually propelled me into the modelling industry to which I was not exposed before. Winning the crown was not even in my wildest dreams as this had been my first venture in the modelling arena. I felt ecstatic when they placed the crown on my head and I felt so blessed. My happiness knew no bounds when my mother came rushing onto the stage and told me how proud she was, that was the true blessing.
Melvi - Have you ever thought at that moment you will come this far?
Rachana - Never in my wildest dreams would I've imagined to come as far as I've but there's more to achieve and a long way to go.
Melvi - Ok, tell us something about your schooling? Did you ever bunk your school?
Rachana - I've done my schooling from Loreto Convent Darjeeling which has been my second home. I was the school captain, a total need and someone who was participating in all the sports and games that existed. So bunking school was never on my schedule.
Melvi - How often you used to visit Chowrasta in those days?
Rachana - Chowrasta was my favorite hangout. So if I wasn't seen in school or at home I could be spotted hanging out in Chowrasta.
Melvi - After being crowned as Miss Darjeeling 2012 you got a chance to walk few ramps in neighbor cities, right. Would you like to share few experiences from it?
Rachana - After Miss Darjeeling 2012 I got the opportunity to walk for INIFD Siliguri for Mr Kuntanil Das who was a designer and a dear friend of my mentor Mr. Anil Lama. I also did projects for MARK productions based in Sikkim. I was featured in their blog and a project called Model hunt Sikkim 2013 and later on I went to host Miss Sikkim 2013. I've also been involved in beauty shoots with independent photographers like Abel Wilson and Mikma Lepcha. So all these experiences pushed me further into the industry.
Melvi - Who discovered you for Lakme Fashion Week 2015?
Rachana - Lakme was the best blessing God could bestow on me. I was discovered by a Gennext designer named Priyanka Ella Lorena Lama who's also from Darjeeling but is making her presence felt in the Indian scene of upcoming designers. She found me unique and appealing to her brand so I was contacted.
Melvi - How much you were excited about this opportunity and tell us the whole experience from it.
Rachana - When I got the call to be her Muse and showcase to introduce her brand, I could not believe my ears. I was more than happy to oblige.
Melvi - How did P.E.L.L.A. find you? And what's your experience with them?
Rachana - The label P.E.L.L.A is inspired by a Japanese art of Wabi Sabi that derives beauty from its imperfections . Models start with being " show stoppers" I started my journey by being a Muse also called the "show starter". I was given an opportunity to showcase the first look of the brand.
Melvi - Beside modeling what are the other things you have been involved?
Rachana - I've been involved in widening my horizon studying working and the best part I am in the aviation industry so I get paid to travel and explore the world.
Melvi - Is there any acting career you have done or thinking to do?
Rachana - Actually I've done a Nepali music video called Aakashma produced by MARK productions where I played the love interest. I am very open to an acting career if given a chance.
Melvi - What are the sites and blogs you visit to expand your fashion knowledge?
Rachana - I love following people more than blogs. The designer I am following for quiet sometime has been our very own Prabal Gurung as his designs are authentic and amazing and artistic. I read magazines like Cosmopolitan, Vogue, Glamour UK to get a few fashion tips. Above all the model whom I follow from the bottom of heart has always been Adriana Lima. She has actually been my inspiration and her workout tips have been of great help.
Melvi - Once I heard "Models are genetic.", how much you agree on this quote?
Rachana - Models are genetic I do not totally agree or disagree on this as we have few models whose parents have been models themselves.
Melvi - How would you describe your style? What is fun and interesting about your style?
Rachana - Style for me has always been about comfort and knowing and embracing the body and features you've been born with. If you love and embrace yourself beauty begins that instance. My style has always been fun and interesting because I've always stylized myself according to what I'm comfortable with. So be it a hat or a huge neck-piece I just need to know I can carry it out so viola that's the happy preppy comfortable me.
Melvi - How did you see yourself progress in this industry?
Rachana - I've never had an opportunity to moan about the past or be anxious about the future. Progress shall come with its pace and my progress in this industry shall be based entirely on my hard work and effort and God's blessings.
Melvi - When you first started modeling how much you were serious about this profession?
Rachana - Modelling just happened but when I won the crown then it began to dawn on me that yes I would want to make a name for myself in this industry. Thus hard work began.
Melvi - Who are some of the designers and photographers you have worked already?
Rachana - Most of my designers and photographers have been closer to home like Mikma Lepcha from Sikkim. Abel Wilson from Kolkatta who's now based in Dubai and then Priyanka Ella Lorena Lama happened and so came P.E.L.L.A and after which I have done a shoot with Fastrack but the details cannot be discussed now.
Melvi - What kind of atmosphere you look forward in your shooting?
Rachana - I need my crew and the people of the shooting to be at ease , have fun so that it cuts the monotony and when u love your job you do not have to work. It comes naturally.
Melvi - From your experience what are the things that makes a good model and good photographers?
Rachana - Good photographers and models are always in sync with each other. A photographer can take out the best in you when he/she understands you and you understand them. So the rappo should be good.
Melvi - What is your opinion on the current state of modeling in India?
Rachana - Current state of modelling in India's ever expanding ever progressing demanding and as always fast paced.
Melvi - How much do you believe in this, success depends more on what you know than whom you know?
Rachana - We need to know the art the pros and cons of anything in particular that we want to pursue in order to be successful because we may know a lot of people in the industry but if you have no clue about the industry itself no one shall be of any help.
Melvi - What will be your piece of advice to new comers? If they tries to contact you would you like to share your experience with them?
Rachana - To the new comers just pursue your dreams though there will be tons of people who will try to pull you down , say that you lack this or you do not possess that but remember even an aircraft flies against the winds to soar as high as it does. So strengthen up hold yourself high and go after what you love. I will be more than happy to share what little experience I have been through like I said I am no where near to many who've already reached the zenith. I am still learning.
Melvi - How has modeling changed other aspects of your life?
Rachana - Wow modelling has strengthened me I think. In this cut throat arena when you've so many aspects that make you feel like you are inadequate in so many ways, and still to achieve what little you have instills so much faith and hope you come back with a new zeal.The familiarity and what little fan following you have back home makes you feel wonderful too. He He
Melvi - If you get invitation too work in Fashion Industry of Nepal. Will you accept the offer?
Rachana - Definitely, there I will happily oblige.
Melvi - Name at least 5 things that we don't know about you or didn't came up in this interview.
Rachana - Okay I love adventure sports I have done rock climbing, hiking, mountaineering, kayaking. I've played state level hockey and I love singing. I have sang for an musical album in Darjeeling. I also love dancing and have trained in Kathak and Bharatnatayam when I was a kid.

Without a good foundation of the principle elements of photography, both in its physical and mental processes, the resulting photograph will fall far short of its goal. To make a superior photograph, to take that one shot that for your lifetime you are so proud of, is possible for anyone who picks up a camera. It does not come from the equipment alone, though that will have an effect on the result. Someone with an expensive camera can still take a bad photographer.Photographs evoke the essence of places we have not been, we perhaps will not return to, and should never forget.
With a photograph, I can bring someone from his or her spot on the globe to mine. They can stand with me in the midst of a pine forest or walk in hushed silence through the musky light of a swamp.Photographs "become" through making choices, and great photographs become through making right choices. Right choices are the direct result of the knowledge of the photographer. Great photographs are NOT, however, strictly the result of owning fancy equipment. Anyone using most any camera can take an incredible photograph. Superior photographs come from photographers who know how his or her camera functions. A skilled photographer takes the time to read the manual and familiarize themselves with everything that camera will do. After all, if you don't know what your camera will do, then how can you do it? Taking this statement even one-step further, a truly skilled photographer will "one up" the camera and get it to do things it is not supposed to do.Even the highest-paid most professional of photographers, even those with thousands of cash in lenses and software, have to further educate themselves at some point to be good photographer. To put it poetically,.I also like a quote I once read by photographer David Hum. "Photography is only a tool, a vehicle, for expressing or transmitting a passion in something else." What images I capture should express the passion I feel for that scene, that object, or that moment in time. When other people view my work, they should know in part who I am as a person.
Photography connects people - through interests, locations, and cultures. It spans time and distance as a bridge between worlds. It's never been about the gear. It's always been about seeing something, knowing how you want it to look, and making it so. Making it so is the easy part; seeing it in the first place is what makes a photographer. Powers of observation are everything. Snapping a camera is trivial.Call it vision, imagination, or seeing; it all comes down to the same thing: the ability to envision a final result in your mind's eye, and then to make it so with your tools at hand.The artists, the musicians, the CEOs, the photographers, the hotel workers, the cab drivers, all the people, each with an interesting story. Its the foods, the nervous feeling of getting on a plane to go to a place you've never been... Its the life in a story you make up in your head when you're a kid that sounds so cool, and then suddenly you realize its your life. I guess that's what photography is all about to me. I believe we make our own destiny, but I also know to be grateful and thankful... As corny as it sounds, sometimes I sit back and I'm amazed at all this good stuff that has come to me because I use a camera.
